Robert Pattinson may be best known for his role as the fearsome vampire Edward in “The Twilight Saga” series, but the “Remember Me” actor told the latest issue of Parade magazine that off-screen, he’s not quite so confident.

“When it comes to the opposite sex, I’m not as fully confident as the guy I play,” he said of his new film, in which he stars opposite “Lost’s” Emilie de Ravin. “I don’t even remember the last time I asked someone out on a date.”

Zac Efron On Robert Pattinson: ‘He’s Absolutely Amazing’
Robert Pattinson reportedly has a man-crush on Zac Efron – and Zac told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on the Oscars red carpet that he’s got strong feelings for his acting colleague, too.

“He’s absolutely amazing,” Zac said. “I think he’s making great choices. I think he’s handling it all really well, but you know, he’s a superstar. He really deserves all this.”

Meanwhile, Robert recently chatted with press about his relationship status, insisting that he’s still on the bachelor list. “I don’t have a girlfriend,” he says. “I don’t know why.” “You always think you’re going to get more girls after you’ve made a movie and it never happens,” he adds. “It’s especially difficult in L.A. Most of the women there are actresses and by default that makes them a little bit nuts – not that that’s a bad thing.”

I come out only to work, and sometimes to go out for dinner. But, if you read the magazines, it seems that I have a frantic high life.” As for the constant rumors that he’s dating costar Kristen Stewart, Rob declared, “I am single… almost everything that came out about my private life is false.”

He’s one of the most sought-after paparazzi targets, and Robert Pattinson can’t believe everyone’s interest in his day-to-day affairs. The “Twilight” stud told press he finds it strangely funny that even the most mundane moments of his life are caught on film. Pattinson explained, “I saw pictures of me buying pants in the papers and I thought, ‘What do you expect me to wear?’” “I find it really funny — if I got shot, I would literally be in hysterics. I would literally be in hysterics. I would be like, ‘Are you serious? Jesus Christ, get Zac Efron! He’s got more social relevance than I do.’”
