In a statement, Feldman told, “I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren’t even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face.” “I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school,” Feldman continued. The final sentence in the statement reads, “I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived.”

Hollywood is still in shock over the tragic death of 80’s teen idol Corey Haim, and a new coroner’s report tells that the “Lost Boys” actor spent his last living moments with his mother. LA County Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter explained, “Some time after midnight, he got up, he was dizzy and unsteady on his feet and knelt down. His mom helped him to a bed and he became unresponsive in about a minute or so. She dialed 911 and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 2:15 a.m.” A neighbor from Haim’s apartment complex revealed that Corey was devoted to caring for his mother.  “It was a real shame. His mom was sick and he was taking care of her.” “I saw him a few days ago with [his] mom by the pool. He was humble but inspirational to the actors around here. He was getting himself together.” Corey’s mother Judy Haim offered a few words as well.  “I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home. He was a good boy. I’m devastated by his death.”

A friend of the Lost Boys star said, “Corey was in a bad way and he was begging me to give him pain medication shortly before his death. But although I’ve read stories about a gang giving him prescription drugs he never spoke about that.I know he was taking a lot of Valium, he was very upset about his mom’s cancer as he was really close to her, and I guess it was his way of dealing with the stress.”But Corey did attempt to get help. “Corey had recently started working with a new detox guy, and was in a pretty fragile state. Corey would get desperate sometimes though and would just nag his friends for drugs.” Another close friend of Corey’s since fifteen said he never had trouble getting drugs from many doctors. “Doctors would prescribe him anything he asked for,” told friend Holly Fields. “He didn’t even realize he had a drug problem for the longest time. He did genuinely have back pain and he thought that because the pills he was taking were prescription so he didn’t have a dependency and wasn’t an addict -- it wasn’t like he was injecting heroin, or smoking crack. He would say that one pill would make him feel good, so two would make him feel even better. And it just escalated from there.”
