Taylor Momsen Talks Becoming Madonna & Lourdes’ New Material Girl
Madonna and daughter Lourdes “Lola” Leon recently launched their clothing line – Material Girl – and the face of the brand, “Gossip Girl” star Taylor Momsen, said the pair are very hands on.

“Lola was here all day and she helped style the shoot and I worked with her to put the outfits together. She’s a sweetheart,” Taylor said for an interview with Material Girl Clothing. “Madonna came a little bit later and she’s totally awesome. She’s very down to earth for all her success so that was… it was good to see that.”

She’s touring on the Vans Warped Tour with her band the Pretty Reckless, has a killer gig on the CW’s “Gossip Girl” and was hand-picked by Madonna for her new Material Girl clothing line and Taylor Momsen is on top of her game. The singer/actress/model will be making an appearance in Herald Square on August 3rd for the Material Girl launch (200 Macy’s stores) and Miss Momsen told press she’s pumped about the gig. Taylor explained, “I was ecstatic to be asked. It’s such an honor. It’s Madonna. I was kind of shocked. She’s amazing.” “The role entails doing the launch of the line on Aug. 3 at Herald Square. And I’ll be tweeting and talking about the line. We did a photo shoot for the first pieces of the collection. It’s a really great line. It’s really cool.”

The 16-year-old Jenny Humphrey actress was all bundled up for the chilly weather, chatting on her cell phone in between work duties. In related news, it sounds as if Miss Momsen is caught up in a bit of drama with fellow co-star Leighton Meester - as The CW has played Leighton’s music on the show while not doing the same for Miss Momsen. “Taylor is not happy that Gossip Girl has been playing Leighton’s music on the show, and they have never asked to play any of her songs. It’s creating a lot of tension on set,” a source told Hollywood Life. As for the reason for choosing Leighton over Taylor, the insider explains, “Leighton’s pop music fits the theme of Gossip Girl more than Taylor’s punk rock songs.” Doing their best to calm the situation, a rep for the CW later stated, “The show will support Taylor and her music when the time is right, but her music is not ready yet.”

Gearing up for another day of work, Taylor Momsen was spotted on the Queens, New York City set of “Gossip Girl” yesterday (October 21). The bleached blonde babe looked tough in a leather jacket and aviator sunglasses as she strolled past the paparazzi. As for her own personal diet regimen, Taylor recently told press she keeps a close eye on her food intake and sticks to veggies rather than red meat. Miss Momsen explained,“I eat really healthy and I work out. I dance and go to the gym a little bit here and there.”
