‘The Hurt Locker,’ Kathryn Bigelow Top Oscar Winners
The Iraq War drama “The Hurt Locker” won best picture and five other prizes Sunday at the Academy Awards, its haul including best director for Kathryn Bigelow.

911 Call Released In Marie Osmond’s Son’s Death
The 911 call has been released in the death of Marie Osmond’s son, Michael Bryan, who committed suicide on February 26.

In the call, placed by a female who lived in the apartment building which Bryan jumped from in downtown Los Angeles, the woman tells the 911 dispatcher she witnessed the fall from the seventh floor of the 15-floor building.

Chynna Phillips’ (Withdrawn) Divorce Paperwork
Access Hollywood has obtained the divorce paperwork filed by singer Chynna Phillips" class="cel" title="search Chynna Phillips">Chynna Phillips against her husband of 15 years, Billy Baldwin; papers which she later withdrew.

The singer filed the papers last week in Santa Barbara Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences. One day later, the papers were withdrawn.

Baldwin’s manager, Lizzie Grubman, told Access on Tuesday, “Every married couple has its up and downs, but they are two people who have been together for 18 years and are deeply in love. They will work through their personal issues and they are committed to staying together.”

Lil Wayne Begins Yearlong Jail Term In NYC
Lil Wayne was sentenced Monday to a year in jail in New York City for having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007, then was taken away in handcuffs to begin his term immediately.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper, born Dwayne Carter, was sentenced in Manhattan after pleading guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He admitted having the loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus.

Preliminary Ratings Show Oscars Up Over Last Year
Early indications are that an Academy Awards telecast where “The Hurt Locker” topped the popular “Avatar” for best picture was popular with viewers.

The Nielsen Co.‘s overnight measurement of the nation’s 56 biggest markets gave ABC’s Sunday telecast a 26.5 rating and 40 audience share. That’s a 14 percent increase over the same rating for last year’s telecast, when “Slumdog Millionaire” was named best picture.
