Utah Funeral Service Held For Marie Osmond’s Son
Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son is being remembered in Utah by family as a funny person with a quick wit who taught others about the importance of service.

Funeral services were held Monday in Provo — about 35 miles south of Salt Lake City — for Michael Bryan, the fourth of Osmond’s eight children.

‘The Hurt Locker,’ Kathryn Bigelow Top Oscar Winners
The Iraq War drama “The Hurt Locker” won best picture and five other prizes Sunday at the Academy Awards, its haul including best director for Kathryn Bigelow.

Bigelow is the first woman in the 82-year history of the Oscars to earn Hollywood’s top prize for filmmakers.

911 Call Released In Marie Osmond’s Son’s Death
The 911 call has been released in the death of Marie Osmond’s son, Michael Bryan, who committed suicide on February 26.

In the call, placed by a female who lived in the apartment building which Bryan jumped from in downtown Los Angeles, the woman tells the 911 dispatcher she witnessed the fall from the seventh floor of the 15-floor building.

Lil Wayne was sentenced Monday to a year in jail in New York City for having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007, then was taken away in handcuffs to begin his term immediately.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper, born Dwayne Carter, was sentenced in Manhattan after pleading guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He admitted having the loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus.

Preliminary Ratings Show Oscars Up Over Last Year
Early indications are that an Academy Awards telecast where “The Hurt Locker” topped the popular “Avatar” for best picture was popular with viewers.

The Nielsen Co.‘s overnight measurement of the nation’s 56 biggest markets gave ABC’s Sunday telecast a 26.5 rating and 40 audience share. That’s a 14 percent increase over the same rating for last year’s telecast, when “Slumdog Millionaire” was named best picture.

Actor Corey Haim has died, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office confirmed the actor died at 2:15 AM on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, Calif.

The Los Angeles Police Department said they received a call from the hospital before 4 AM confirming the actor’s death.

Japan Defends Dolphin Hunt In Oscar-Winning ‘Cove’
The Japanese fishing village featured in “The Cove,” which won an Oscar for best documentary, defended its practice of hunting dolphins Monday as a part of a long tradition.

The movie, which mixes stunning underwater shots of gliding dolphins with covertly filmed grisly footage of their slaughter, also claims that dolphin meat is laden with toxic mercury.

Funeral Service Planned For Marie Osmond’s Son
A spokesman for Marie Osmond says a funeral service for the singer’s 18-year-old son is set in Utah.

Publicist Alan Nierob says the service for Michael Bryan will be held Monday in a Mormon chapel near the Provo, Utah, temple. The service is private.

As previously reported by Gossip Center, Miss Gosselin is removing her extensions for a changeup, as her stylist Ted Gibson tells of the plans, “We’re taking them out and we’re not putting them back in until Thursday. So she’ll have short hair for a day.” Continuing to dish on Kate’s makeover, Gibson says, “We’re actually doing three different shades of blonde, a caramel, a beige blond and a little bit of a lighter blonde.”

Jude Law and Sienna Miller: Breakfast Mates
Kicking off their day with some quality time together, Jude Law and Sienna Miller were spotted at Café Gitane restaurant in New York City today (March 10). The “Sherlock Holmes” stud and the “Hippie Hippie Shake” babe tried their best not to be photographed together as they made their exit from the gourmet breakfast eatery. And though they’re trying to be discreet about their relationship, Jude and Sienna reportedly spent time with Miss Miller’s parents in Manhattan over the weekend.
